IAA Drone Operator Requirements & EU Compliance
Safety and legal compliance are at the core of our operations. To comply with EU regulations enforced by the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA), we strictly fulfill and maintain all mandatory legal criteria:
Official Operator Registration: We hold valid, up-to-date Drone Operator Registration with the IAA, fully compliant with the official schedule of charges and regulatory renewals.
Remote Pilot Competency: All flights are executed by a fully trained, certified remote pilot who has completed the mandatory IAA training and safety examinations.
Full Public Liability Insurance: Every operation is backed by comprehensive commercial drone insurance, protecting our clients, the public, and the crew on every set.
Strict Operational Restrictions
To maintain our unblemished safety record and uphold our IAA standing, all shoots are planned in strict accordance with EU drone regulations:
Airspace & No-Fly Zones: Operations within controlled airspace (near airports or restricted military zones) require advanced coordination and specific IAA airspace permits.
Proximity & Bystanders: Flights cannot be operated directly over uninvolved assemblies of people or crowds without specific category authorizations.
Visual Line of Sight (VLOS): All operations must be conducted within the pilot’s direct visual line of sight to ensure immediate spatial awareness and collision avoidance.
Weather Permissions: Flights are strictly subject to safe weather parameters (wind and rain limitations) to protect the equipment and the filming environment.
